County Court Records

<--Holdings Home

County Court records contain the minutes for issues that came before the equivalent of today’s County Commissioners. County government issues, some estates (especially those who died without a will), adoptions, taxes, etc. are included in these records. Only record books are available.

Testimony in Court records show that when Union Troops entered Madisonville in early December of 1863, they pillaged the Courthouse and destroyed all the County Court records prior to 1858.
